If sewage is backing up into the house, call. For pumping, transfer inspections and new-system questions, send a request and a local company will call you back.
Before you call
It helps to have:
- The property address or parcel number, so the right local company gets your request
- What you need: pumping, a transfer inspection, a repair or a new system
- If you're selling or buying, your closing date
- When the tank was last pumped, if you know
- Whether it's a conventional system or an alternative system with a pump or alarm
Sewage backing up? Stop running the washer, dishwasher and showers until the system is checked, and keep kids and pets away from any wet or smelly spots in the yard.
